FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX organisers found ways to attract spectators to Sochi Autodrom, creating maximum interest for motorsport fans who just had to attend. For the 2016 season, special package deals and optimised ticket prices were - offered based on an analysis of last year's ticket prices.
"For two consecutive years, the Russian rounds of the Grand Prix were sold out, and we had no doubts about the same happening in 2016, says FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX promoter Sergey Vorobyov, - our forecast proved right.. the fans voted with their wallets to visit the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi, once again. However, Sochi Autodrom is not merely about Formula 1, there are various events taking place here all year round -keeping, and even raising, the level of interest of motorsport in this country. Sochi Autodrom is now viewed as the central venue of the Olympic Park and of the Olympic legacy in general. This motorsport complex has hosted two Russian series, SMP F4 Championship and Mitjet selected by FIA as support races for the 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix, which in itself is a sign international recognition of the Russian motorsport.
As for Sochi Autodrom attendance capacity and its potential expansion, our dream is to increase daily race attendance to 100'000 by 2020. We are moving towards this goal".
Besides racing, the 2016 FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX calendar offers a varied and rich program to the spectators, bringing the entertainment to its climax this Sunday with Europa Plus Fest - featuring such bright Russian pop stars as Band'Eros, Nyusha, Yulianna Karaulova, Elka, Burrito, Elena Temnikova and electronic dance music gurus Swanky Tunes, Zeskullz and DJ Anton Bruner.
